A taste of London’s West End returns to the Buxton Opera House.
Encore!, described by the UK press as ‘extraordinary’, ‘a complete triumph’ and ‘fabulous’, returns to Buxton Opera House after its huge success in 2007. Five critically acclaimed leading musical performers take you on a whistle-stop tour through some of the most popular and memorable shows that have made them the toast of London’s West End. The show stars Earl Carpenter (who played the title role in The Phantom of the Opera and is currently starring as Javert in Les Misérables), along with Michael Xavier (Mamma Mia, Phantom of the Opera and Sir Gallahad in Spamalot), Annette Yeo (City of Angels, Mamma Mia), Rachel Barrell who recently finished a run playing the role of Christine in Phantom of the Opera and Ima Castro who recreated the role of Kim for the last UK tour of Miss Saigon. With only piano and cello accompaniment, be prepared to be dazzled with hits from Whistle Down the Wind, Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins, The Phantom of The Opera, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia and many more, by the stars who have made their mark on the these internationally acclaimed productions. This annual New Year favourite is a picturesque presentation of romantic nostalgia, introduces the audience to a bygone age of glamorous soirées and Strauss waltzes and comprises highlights from some of the great operettas of Strauss, Kalman and Lehar including Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow and many more.
