The Princess and the Pea

Once upon a stormy night, while the wind and the rain were howling outside, the Royals were all tucked up warm in bed. Suddenly there came a knock at the door and a very wet, very untidy girl was brought inside.
Become part of this playful and comic story of a prince in search of a ‘real’ princess, a clever queen, a girl who is not as she first appears, a tower of mattresses and of course a tiny pea.
This quirky and inventive adaptation of Hans Andersen’s bedtime tale is played out among sheets and blankets with puppets, objects and dreamlike projections. Read more about this event … or

Alice & The White Rabbit

Join Alice on her magical adventure as she chases the White rabbit back in time on a fantastic spiralling journey into Wonderland. Watch her change in size in this dream-like shadow adaption inspired by the famous tale by Lewis Carroll. On her journey she meets the Cheshire Cat, a two-legged dragon and the March Hare at the mediaeval Mad Hatter’s Tea party. But beware the Queen of Hearts or you might just lose your head!
Alice & The White Rabbit celebrates different shadow techniques and is inspired by the gothic architechure and mediaeval times of the original white rabbit statue found in St Mary’s Church, Beverley, East Yorkshire. Read more about this event … or
The Story of Father Christmas
