The choir of the church Sveti Sedmochislenitchi (The Seven Saints) has a long tradition of unaccompanied performance. The current choir of 16 from Sofia specialises in some of the finest old orthodox chants, almost unknown to UK audiences. These atmospheric works by anonymous Russian and Bulgarian composers of the fifteenth century are supplemented with masterworks of the great Renaissance tradition. Read more about this event … or
