With The Alan Price Set, featuring Zoot Money and Bobby Tench with special guests Chris Farlowe and Maggie Bell
Maximum Rhythm & Blues brings together some of the UK’s greatest musicians and best vocalists to recreate The Flamingo Club, launch pad for the blues, soul and r ‘n’ b scene in the 1960s.
Alan Price, the quintessential British singer-song writer of the 20th century, has enjoyed a successful career in music, film and theatre spanning over 40 years. Initially a member of The Animals, he has had huge solo hits in the mid-60s with I Put A Spell On You and The House That Jack Built and in the 1970s with The Jarrow Song.
Zoot Money is quite simply the biggest character on the British rhythm and blues scene since the early 1960s, his Big Roll Band were a permanent fixture at the Flamingo Club and, for the past several years, Zoot has been a permanent member of the Alan Price Set and works constantly with his own Big Roll Band.
Bobby Tench’s career spans 35-years as an internationally respected skilled vocalist with Jeff Beck, Freddie King, Van Morrison, Humblepie and The Streetwalkers.
Chris Farlowe’s classic number one Out of Time, written for him by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards is still high on radio playlists, not to mention his recording of the original version of Handbags and Gladrags.
Returning for her third consecutive tour is former Stone the Crows vocalist and winner of the 1971 Melody Maker readers’ poll for Best Female Vocalist, Maggie Bell, once hailed as the British Janis Joplin, with her unique soulful voice that wowed record buyers and critics alike.
