One of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters in the New Country movement of the 1990s, Mary-Chapin Carpenter has received plaudits on both sides of the Atlantic for her personal and autobiographical songs. The winner of five Grammy Awards, she is the only female vocalist to win the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance four years running. Her many US hits include Quittin’ Time, Passionate Kisses, He Thinks He’ll Keep Her, Shut Up And Kiss Me, Why Walk When You Can Fly and The Bug as well as her duet with Shawn Colvin, One Cool Remove.
Joining her for this very special concert is fellow US singer-songwriter Tift Merritt, whose songs, including Good Hearted Man, have been regular airplay hits on Radio 2.
