Now in its twentieth year of performing at Buxton Opera House, Present Company has already mounted four of Ivor Novello’s hugely popular musicals and is now delighted to present this recent revision of Glamorous Night.
Staged at Drury Lane Theatre, Glamorous Night was the first of Ivor’s great musical plays and captivated audiences with its lavish spectacle and glorious music. The show features well known Novello songs that have echoed down the years: Fold Your Wings, Glamorous Night, Shine Through My Dreams, When The Gypsy Played, Shanty Town, Why Isn’t It You?, The Girl I Knew and Some Day My Heart Will Awake.
An opera gala, the attempted assassination of a king’s mistress, revolution, shipwreck, a gypsy wedding and an abdication – let this landmark show shine through your dreams and fold its wings of love around you.
