The New London Opera Players present Beethoven’s dramatic opera, telling the story of Leonore, who disguised as the prison guard ‘Fidelio’ attempts to free her husband Florestan from death at the hands of his political enemies.

Although known as a serious opera, the characters in Fidelio have their roots in commedia dell’arte, giving a lightness which the New London Opera Players have brought to the forefront of this ultimately uplifting opera.
