Aladdin stars announced!

Buxton Opera House has announced its star cast for this year’s traditional family pantomime, Aladdin, which runs at the fairytale venue from Saturday 11 December 2010 to Saturday 1 January 2011.
Buxton’s very own local talent, Bruno Langley, who played Todd Grimshaw for 4 years in Coronation Street is taking the central role of Aladdin. Wishee Washee, Aladdin’s foolish brother who lives at their mother’s laundry shop, will be brought to life by CBeebie’s star, Matthew McVarish who plays Raymond in the hit show Me Too! Also singing and dancing in the glitziest party in the old streets of Baghdad is BBC TV’s Over The Rainbow finalist Steph Fearon, performing as the beautiful pantomime heroine, Princess Jasmine.
As well as providing a fabulous seasonal treat for the whole family, full of eye-watering comedy, hilarious thigh-slapping buffoonery, catchy pop songs and dazzling dance routines, this year’s pantomime audiences can expect to hitch a ride on a camel, discover a dodgy long-lost uncle and set out on a perilous quest to seek an ancient lamp, buried deep in a desert cave… oh and sit back and enjoy the best magic carpet ride in Panto land!
Channel Theatre Company’s presentation of Aladdin runs from Saturday 11 December 2010 to Saturday 1 January 2011.
