The Search for Pantomime Dancers is Over

4 December 2009

Buxton Opera House is delighted to announce that the casting of the juvenile troupe of dancers for this year’s pantomime – Dick Whittington, is now complete. Those lucky youngsters who were picked to dance on the Opera House stage, toasted their success with a group picture on the steps of Buxton’s Community School where they have been rehearsing.
In total, twenty children have been chosen to perform on alternate dates of the popular pantomime which runs from Saturday 12 December 2009 to Saturday 2 January 2010. The dancers will share the stage with popular actor Arthur Bostrom (Officer Crabtree – of the catch-phrase ’Good Moaning!’ – from ’Allo, ’Allo), who is playing King Rat, Bradley Clarkson (Danny finalist from ITV’s Grease is the Word) as Dick and the lovely Leah Hackett (Tina McQueen from Hollyoaks) as Alice Fitzwarren. Dick Whittington promises comedy, drama, toe-tapping songs, colourful dance routines and much, much more.
